Her interest in food and international cuisine began when she was living in the Middle East and led to her training, qualifying and gaining experience as a chef. Shirley was appointed head chef in a west country restaurant and then moved on to a management position in the sports hospitality and international travel industry, touring the world in a role which allowed her to combine her love of sport with her passion for great food.
